Welcome to Peek-A-Boo Babyproofing! We're here to
help you keep your curious toddler safe and sound. Every year over 4,000
children are hurt in accidents around the home. A good majority of these
are completely preventable. While you want to give your child the freedom
to explore, it's important to create a safe and controlled environment
for this to happen.
You probably have a pretty good idea of the basics of childproofing,
but we guarantee there are many little things that just haven't occurred
to you. And crawling around on your hands and knees won't always bring
them to light.
Peek-A-Boo Babyproofing is dedicated to educating you on the big things
as well as the hidden and less obvious hazards.
It's important to remember that baby proofing is an ongoing process.
As your baby grows, the risks change and you need to be sure you're
one step ahead of him or her in predicting and safeguarding these potential
danger zones.
That's where we come in.
Alison & Kenny Rhodes, founders of Peek-A-Boo Babyproofing, are the
proud parents of three children. In 1997, their first son, Connor, died
of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Alison quickly became an advocate
for other SIDS parents in the Connecticut and New York area and frequently
speaks at child-care facilities about safe sleep practices. She serves
on the Board of Directors of First Candle/SIDS Alliance and is President
of the Connecticut SIDS Alliance. Alison has appeared on many television
and radio programs discussing SIDS risk reduction and how to create
a safe sleep environment both at home and in the day care setting.
Kenny is a licensed home inspector and is the owner of Advantage Home
Inspections. His high level of customer service and keen eye for the
slightest problem has led him to become one of the leading home inspectors
in Fairfield and Westchester counties. He can often be seen on WNBC
TV discussing safety issues in the home. Most recently, Kenny taped
two episodes for the HGTV series The House Detective.
Their dedication to the safety of toddlers and children combined with
Kenny's decades of experience in home safety led them to the establishment
of Peek-A-Boo Babyproofing. While SIDS is unpreventable and unpredictable,
both Alison and Kenny are committed to helping reduce the amount of
preventable childhood accidents that happen in the home every day.
